Olivier Lavinal is program manager at the World Bank Group (WBG). He was the lead author of the WBG Strategy for Fragility, Conflict and Violence. Olivier also served as special assistant to the vice president for the Middle East and North Africa region. Prior to joining the WBG, he was engaged in French public policymaking at local and national levels. Olivier served as the chief of staff of the president of Grand Lyon. He specializes in international affairs, especially social inclusion and resilience. Olivier graduated from Sciences Po Paris, from where he also holds a master’s degree in comparative politics. He is also an alumnus of Georgetown University and was a scholar at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, Harvard University.
